WestgateLit is proud to announce an Afternoon Tea with Julie Wassmer will be held at 3pm on Sunday 24th February 2019 in the Function Room, Town Hall Buildings, St Mildred’s Road, Westgate-on-Sea, CT8 8RE (above the Carlton Cinema).
This unique event offers the opportunity to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea with Julie as she talks about her career as an author. Afterwards there will be time for questions and to buy autographed copies of her books. Julie has written on ITV’s London’s Burning, C5’s Family Affairs and EastEnders. Her 2010 memoir, More Than Just Coincidence, entered the Sunday Times Best Selling Non-Fiction Top Twenty and went on to become Mumsnet Book of the Year. Her debut crime novel, The Whitstable Pearl Mystery, was published in 2015 and has been followed by four more titles in the crime series of which the Daily Mail writes: “While Oxford had Morse, Whitstable, famous for its oysters, has Pearl . . . True to the tradition of classic crime, Julie Wassmer weaves a strong story into a setting that has more to offer than murder and mayhem….A tried-and-tested crime recipe with Whitstable flavours that makes for a Michelin-starred read.”
Tickets are priced at £17 per head and include a full afternoon tea. Prosecco will also be available for purchase as an extra special touch! Spaces are limited so early booking is strongly advised and please advise of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
Please note that the function room is reached by stairs so may not be suitable for those with restricted mobility.
