WestgateLit is proud to announce that an Afternoon Tea with Lesley Cookman will be held at 3pm on Saturday 25th May 2019 at The Centre, Alpha Road, Birchington, KENT, CT7 9EG.
Lesley started writing almost as soon as she could read, and filled many Woolworth's exercise books with pony stories until she was old enough to go out with boys. Since she's been grown up, following a varied career as, among other things, a model, air stewardess and disc jockey, she's written short fiction and features for a variety of magazines, achieved an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Wales, taught writing for both Kent Adult Education and the WEA and edited the first Sexy Shorts collection of short stories from Accent Press in aid of the Breast Cancer Campaign. The Libby Sarjeant series is published by Accent Press, who also publish her book, How to Write a Pantomime, with a foreword by Roy Hudd. Lesley is a member of the Romantic Novelists' Association, the Society of Authors and the Crime Writers' Association. She has also written pantomimes and a Music Hall Musical, all of which have been performed all over the country.
The 20th in the Libby Sarjeant series, Murder Repeated will be published in September, and the third in her Edwardian series, The Alexandrians - Death Treads The Boards, about a concert party in a seaside town in Kent, in June.
Our Afternoon Tea With... events start at 3pm with the Author's talk and afternoon tea is served at 4pm. The Bar will be open from the beginning of the event so why not treat yourself to a glass of something nice while you listen to the fascinating talk.
Tickets are priced at £17 per head and includes a full afternoon tea comprising a delicious selection of finger sandwiches, scones and cakes. Spaces are limited so early booking is strongly advised and please advise of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
