Helen Seton graduated from Goldsmiths College in 1980. She worked as a teacher for many years in London and Broadstairs specialising in Early-Years-Education. Fascinated by local history, in 2014, Helen became a tour guide in the Ramsgate Wartime Tunnels shortly after they reopened and uses her storytelling skills to bring the tunnels to life. Helen’s father was a Canterbury school boy during WW2 and shared many of his family’s anecdotes with Helen, some of which she used in her books. Encouraged by Tunnel colleagues and her daughters, Helen wrote and illustrated her first book in 2017. She particularly enjoys learning personal stories told by visitors who used the tunnels during the war. With her books she hopes to help the children of today understand something of what their great-grandparents experienced.
